It wasn't a horribly cold day when the wind wasn't blowing, unfortunately the wind was blowing for a good percentage of the hike. No sun, thought he clouds did seem to be clearing up as we drove out of the area.

A scramble up Bogart Tower, a minor peak overlooking Memorial Lakes. It was pretty fun and pretty straight forward. There was a little bit of moderate scrambling and a couple of moves that may be considered difficult. We also came across a camp site at the first Memorial Lake with food scattered all over the place. These campers didn't seem to have very good camping etiquette.

Sunrise at Middle Lake combined with a walk around Many Springs

Attempt to get sunrise photos at Middle Lake. While there wasn't much colour, the mist over the water and the low clouds provided for some interesting photos.

We hiked out of Assiniboine Provincial Park on a rainy day, so I didn't take may photos. We chose the Assiniboine Pass trail which is a bit shorter than the Wonder Pass alternative.

A hike up Mount Cautley. We attempted a traverse to Wonder Peak but were turned around near the summit by a giant cornice blocking the scrambling route.

A hike up Nub Peak, which offers some of the best views of the lakes and Mount Assiniboine. Along the ridge we saw several hoary marmots.

After a quick helicopter ride into Assiniboine Provincial Park, we settled into our hut and scrambled up the north end of Starburst Peak

On the last leg of our road trip, we stopped at Castle Junction where we had lunch and watched an Osprey feed its chick

I didn't take too many pictures on this day. We took the two hour ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver then drove to Revelstoke.

We walked around Tofino, Chesterman Beach, Cox Bay Beach, Schooner Cove and Cathedral Grove before driving to Nanaimo.

We woke up in Port Alberni, scrambled up Mount Arrowsmith then drove to Tofino where we enjoyed the sunset on Chesterman Beach

It was a relaxing day for us. We enjoyed the views on the ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay. We drove through Victoria, walked around downtown and Beacon Hill Park, then watched kite surfers on the beach. On the drive to Port Alberni, we stopped at the Goldstream Niagara Falls.

We hiked up the McDougall Rim/Mount Hayman and turned around at Hayman Lake. The hike had some nice views, but lots of bugs and lots of long sections in the trees. There was a lot of ATV use. Afterwards we drove to Vancouver and walked around Stanley Park.

Our plan was to scramble up Mount Abbott and Afton and stay the night in Revelstoke. We hiked up to Marion Lake and it started to rain, so we turned around and did some of the boardwalks in the park instead. Having a bunch of extra time in the day, we decided to continue on to Kelowna where we watched the sunset on Knox Mountain

Before we got to the Icefields, there was a stop at Moraine Lake, Herbert Lake and a pull over along the highway to watch grazing grizzlies. The scramble was pretty straight forward, mostly a hike with a bit of slogging on scree. The weather was just amazing and so were the views.

Our plan was to go up Exshaw Mountain and follow the ridge for a while before dropping down to follow the creek out. Unfortunately there was a ton of new wet snow which made our trip somewhat miserable. By the time we got to the top of Exshaw, we were pretty wet and cold so we decided to turn around.

This little peak doesn't really have a name. It's part of McConnell Ridge (more commonly known as Barrier Lake Lookout). I decided to call it "Biffy Peak" because it hosts a little hut near the top that resembles an outhouse.
